My Annual Media Consumption Roundup - 2024 (UNFINISHED)

    This year has reached its end, meaning it's time for my second annual media consumption roundup. I wish I could say I've been looking forward to this, but instead I feel embarrassed going into this. You'll see why later on in this post... 

For now though, let's start with the not so embarrassing part of this. The part I could talk about the best.

Music

    It seems that every year there'll be an artist who I've first tapped into one project of within the years before, but I become obsessed with in the current year. Last year it was BROCKHAMPTON and Japanese Breakfast, this year it was yeule, who I first tapped into with softscars in December 2023 when I was looking for music to put on my year end lists, not expecting myself to end up obsessing over their work the next year to a point where they became my Spotify Wrapped top artist. Only projects of theirs I first heard this year were Serotonin II, their self-titled EP, and their Pathos EP, all of which are definitely quite notable projects though!

    Music exploration for me this year was a little slow, as I didn't do as much of it as I did last year, heard nearly 50 new albums, and relistened to a lot of stuff. Early on I dabbled in some St. Vincent, listened to some jazz, continued my Queen discography dive, and was a bit hooked on projects I first listened to like JEFFERY by Young Thug, Bad Brains' self-titled album, Let the Sun Talk by MAVI, and Heaven or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins. Surprisingly, I also started tapping into more k-pop with new releases from ILLIT and Yves, liking ILLIT more at first but then swapping late in the year with their newer EPs at the time. During my "time to lock in" period near the end of last school year I delved into Boards of Canada and ended up playing their songs quite a lot, and later
